Nazar (blue eye) Known by many names, Nazar Boncugu - "Evil Eye Bead" (or Evil Eye, Blue Eye, Blue Eye Beads, Glass Eye Bead, Eye of Protection, etc.) these lucky charms are believed to "reflect evil" and "protect the wearer" against the "evil" associated with envious or covetous eyes and/or other negative thinking or energies that may be directed at the wearer or his/her home, car, personal belongings.

It is NOT a religious item and you can see them and buy one almost in everywhere. If you wear one, any one who has bad thought or feeling towards you will have the thoughts reflected back to themselves.
Once upon a time there was a rock by the sea that, even with the force of a hundred men and a lot of dynamite, couldn't be moved or cracked. There was also a man in this town by the sea, who was known to carry the evil eye (Nazar). After much effort and endeavor, the town people brought the man to the rock, and the man, upon looking at the rock said, "My! What a big rock this is." The instant he said this, there was a rip and roar and crack and instantly the immense and impossible rock was found to be cracked in two. The force of the evil eye is a widely accepted and feared random element in Turkish daily life.
Usually they are made from glass but also of plastic. When a baby is born, an evil eye is pinned to the garment on his or her right back shoulder to protect him or her.
How are Evil Eyes used?
There are different ways to use the Evil Eye beads:
* They may be attached to the new born baby's clothes
* Used as accessories at home (wall decorations, window decorations, etc.). Most of the time, a large size evil eye is hung outside of a house, a smaller size is hung right above the entry door of the house, or it is glued on the floor right next to the door mat right outside of the house entrance on a visible spot.
* Used in cars
* Used as jewelry (Earrings, necklaces, bracelets, rings, pendants, anklets etc.)
